YouTube Videos Are Better Than MTV Ever Was

by kalbzayn on June 6, 2007

I am slightly addicted to YouTube these days. Only for the music videos. There are so many ways that YouTube kicks MTVs ass for music videos. When I say MTV, I mean the old MTV of the late 80s/early 90s that actually played music videos. Anything is better than the monstrosity that MTV has become in recent years.

Here is what is so great about YouTube videos:
You can listen to a song at any time you want.
You can listen to the same song again right away if you want.
You can pick a different song if the one you are listening to sucks.

Here are a few of my recent favorites.

Arctic Monkeys – Brianstorm. It is loud, fast, and loud. The way music should be.

Mika – Grace Kelly. I first heard this on my Sirius Radio while driving to work at about 5:30 one morning. I was about to get out of the car to buy donuts. I had to stay in the car until this song was over. Yes, I waited to buy donuts just to listen to this song.

OK Go – Here It Goes Again – Best Choreography ever. EVER. Take that Paula Abdul, you hack wannabe choreographer.

Fatboy slim has two videos that I’m digging:

This one with the juggler:

And Ya Mama

Funny you should write this. I watched several Queen videos on youtube this morning. You are right. Youtube can act as an MTV replacement. I never though of it that way. Well said.

I watched some Queen stuff right after listening to the Mika video. White spandex hairy chest showing one piece. Now that is rock and roll.
