National Wolf Awareness Week

by kalbzayn on October 17, 2007

I happened to look at our wall calendar this afternoon and noticed that today is National Wolf Awareness week. I think that is pretty cool because, in addition to not being too happy when animals are hunted to extinction, one of the main characters in my story I am starting is a wolf…kind of.

I hopped on over to the Wikipedia to grab a wolf fun fact and noticed that Kazakhstan has the largest population of wolves in the world. They have about 90,000 wolves compared to Canada’s 60,000. Since Canada is 3 1/2 times as big and is, as far as I thought anyway, the wolf epicenter of the world, that was a pretty surprising revelation to me.

I wonder what Borat would have to say about that.
