No, the character in my story is not a werewolf. He is a wolf…kind of. But not a werewolf. Still in commemoration of National Wolf Awareness week, I decided to read the wikipedia page on werewolves.
Besides the normal stuff that I had already heard or at least sounded vaguely familiar, there were two things that I found interesting.
First, according to Russian legend, people born on December 24th are doom/destined to become werewolves. Neat. That could be a different way to introduce werewolves into a story someday.
Second, one of the potential ways to get rid of the curse or whatever you want to call it is to kneel in one spot for 100 years. That’s a lot of dedication. After 90 years or so, there must be something pretty interesting that would break that focus. Huh?
Actually, there was a third interesting thing…and something that I have actually used in a unfinished rough draft of a story. One way to become a werewolf is to drink the water out of the footprint of another werewolf.

Ooooh, is he a wold in the way that ‘Wolf’ from the book/tv series ‘The 10th Kingdom’ was a wolf?
I hate that I can’t watch it anymore
I taped it all off Tv when it was on years ago, eventually we managed to squeeze all 7 1/2 hours onto one VHS, and then the tape player decided to eat the tape a year ago
And the only DVD versions I can find are all for whatever region my DVD player isn’t
Woah, rant and a half, sorry!
The water from the footprint soulds interesting… and of course, all I can think of is the person’s tracking skills being off, and them turning into a were-badger instead, lol.
Hope you’re well
