Goals and plans that never happen
This year I was supposed to write a whole bunch of fiction.
I ended up with a few really short stories, about 20K of a really bad novel plot that I will probably try to salvage some of the scenes someday, and a couple other started short stories.
I submitted exactly one short story to a magazine, and received the rejection email shortly afterward.
How did so little writing happen?
The stupid blogs. I write a ton. Most of it ends up on one of several blogs that I write. I enjoy writing them so that is not going to stop anytime soon.
But, I am going to try and get an unspecified amount of fiction completed next year. Hopefully, it will be more than the tiny amount of fiction that I completed this year.
The good news is that all of that work on the blogs made me Time’s Person of the Year.
