Do you have time to read 250 words of fiction?

While I still don’t know for sure if we should consider anything as short as 250 words a story, I do so much love to write these little snippets.

Jason Evans is running another one of his contests where he shows us an intriguing photo and then we have 250 words to come up with a story.

I planned on blowing it off because I still have monthly goals that I’m still trying to figure out how much work it is going to take to finish. Then, while driving, I had a little flash of an idea. I let it stew overnight figuring that if I remembered it the next morning, I would write it.

I remembered. The story is now officially part Jason’s The Clarity of Night contest.

So, if you have time to read 250 words of fiction, go take a read.

If you have time for another 250 words, Paul has a story he sent in, too. It can be found by clicking here.

He was nice enough to link to my story, so I thought I should return the favor. Feel free to tell us which one is better, or if they are both the best things you have ever read, or if we should just give up writing entirely. Or don’t comment at all. As my wife is fond of quoting “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.” I’m making her get rid of her mullet any day now.

Now, back to my pirate.
