The next story I'm writing

by kalbzayn on February 27, 2007

The pirate story for Shimmer died. Damn those crocodiles.

But, fiction lives on. This month I won a contest hosted by Write Stuff. I have my new hardcover copy of Stephen King’s On Writing to prove it. Thanks Write Stuff Staff. I wasn’t planning on entering this month. I have a few other things non-writing based that I planned on doing instead.

But, then while driving (I really need to make sure I keep my one hour each way commute apparently) I had an idea. Quick, raw, and (hopefully) slightly funny. I’m working on writing more like I belong in a garage band than a symphony. I’m not really a suit and tie kind of guy. This definitely will belong in the garage. That’s where you keep the big garbage cans, right?

I won’t say much except there might be exotic dancers who are uniquely tied together. Unless of course I change my mind on the plot. I already have about 1/4 of it written in an extremely fast writing session and should have no trouble finishing the rest in short order.

The theme for the next contest is Sibling Rivalry. The entries are due on March 15th. For all the details, go click on this link.

Congratulations on the win! It also sounds like you’re in the groove with your writing.

Thanks. I’m not sure about finding my groove yet, but I am getting comfortable with a couple styles that I like which has to count for something.
