Kicked out of school for doing his homework

Did you hear the story about the high school kid who got kicked out of school because of the horrible things he wrote for his stream of consciousness homework assignment? I can’t find a link now of course. If you have one, let me know.

The teacher said to write whatever came into their heads. So he did and it wasn’t very nice and definitely not something you would want your young kids reading.

The teacher turned him in and he got kicked out of school.

I witnessed a handful of times where similar things happened as I was going through school starting in fifth grade. I never understood why the teacher would get mad at thoughts that kids put down on paper. Most of the time the kids are just being annoying because they think it is a stupid assignment.

In the instances that I witnessed, the kids just got detention at the worst but this was back in the late 80s early 90s. We’re become much more sensitive to these types of things since then.

Stuff like that bothers me. If the teacher didn’t really want whatever was in the kids’ heads, the assignment should have been something along the lines, right whatever comes into your head that is appropriate for turning in for homework.

If it really was supposed to be uncensored stream of consciousness work, she should have just verified there were words on the pages and thrown them in the trash.
