Chance to get published that will not take much of your time
I write a blog in the b5media network. Another blog in the network is called 55 Fiction. The writers publish super tiny flash fiction stories of 55 words.
They let other people submit stories to be published once in a while and through a super secret b5media forum, I learned that they are looking for “holiday micro-fiction contributions.” Of course, I used my ever growing web clout to get in early and should have my story showing up this Friday if I’m not mistaken. I’ll link to it when it shows up on the site.
So, why do you care? Because you can submit a story, too. Consider it a good NaNoWriMo break. Consider it a chance to get published somewhere new. Consider it a measly little 55 words that I’m asking you to write. Consider it a way to vent over your holiday frustrations or brag about being done with your shopping already. Just make sure it is fiction and 55 words.
If you submit something, tell them I sent you. I get a 5% commission on the $0.00 they pay. And, then tell me when it shows up so I can know to pay extra attention to your story.
What’s that you say? You can’t come up with 55 words? How about I give you a story prompt. For short stories, story prompts are normally about one sentence, so I better keep this prompt really short since you only have 55 words to work with. I’ll give you about two percent of the words you need to write. Get a pencil. Are you ready?
Here it is:
A….
Now, take that and go make some magic.

Thanks for the link Mike. I wrote a story at lunch and will submit it soon. I think I will also post it on my blog along with a link to your post and a link to the 55fiction site.
Expect the 5% commission in the mail.

55 words sounds like a good practice, Mike. =D
